The 150w flexible solar panels are ideal for marine buoys, boat decks and camper vans and feature a robust, lightweight construction with seven layer protection. They are encapsulated in heavy duty ETFE which gives them excellent resilience in extreme conditions, with the ability to 'heal' slight abrasions on contact with branches or rocks.
The innovative design features allow the panel to absorb more power than conventional panels of the same size and power output. This is achieved by reducing shadowing on the cell and shortening the transport paths of the electrons, resulting in greater efficiency and more power for the same surface area.
Solar Logic's innovative design also allows for a more compact and neater appearance, compared with traditional glass solar panels. This is due to the fact that the cells are housed inside the aluminium junction box, which also acts as a frame to keep them flat and neat. The panel is pre-drilled with 4.5mm holes, so can be mechanically fixed as well as bonded to the surface.
Shade diodes are integrated across the entire cell to provide consistent current in partial shading conditions. This is an extremely important factor in marine use, where partial shading of the panel often leads to heat build-up and damage to the solar cells within. The larger 60w and above PV Logic flexi panels have up to two shading diodes housed in the fully waterproof junction box, providing consistency of performance in even the most challenging circumstances. The panels also include a strain relief for the fitted 4m UV stabilised cable, preventing the cable from being pulled from the junction box.
